HOW YOU CAN BAKE A DIFFERENCE
We believe that everyone can get involved in Cakes for Apes! 2025 marks the 10 year anniversary of Cakes for Apes and we hope to make it the best one yet! No matter how big or small your event, by taking part, you will be baking a future for orangutans in need. From cake sales at work to tea parties with family and friends, we have put together some of our top tips to get you inspired!
AT HOME
Invite your friends over for a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake in return for a small donation? Getting a group of friends together for a catch-up can be a lot of fun, and the cake can be totally guilt free as every slice will be helping us care for orangutans.
IN THE OFFICE
If you work in an office, then taking part in Cakes for Apes can make going into work…delicious!
You could bake some goodies and ask for a donation for each treat, or hold a Great Ape Bake Off and everyone donates to take part.
It's worth also asking your workplace if they offer matched funding, so you could double what you raise!
IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
Are you part of a choir? Knitting group? Drama society? Book club? If so, then why not consider adding a Cakes for Apes event to one of your meet ups! You could also consider holding a cake sale in your town market or local community centre. No matter what you raise it will make a huge difference.
RECRUIT A LOCAL CAFE
Do you have a favourite coffee shop, café, bakery or restaurant? We would love it if you could help us spread the word by asking them to get involved!
If any are happy to take part, then please get in touch and we can provide you with some materials to pass onto them.
WORK IN A COFFEE SHOP?
If so, we really want to hear from you! We are hoping to get lots of coffee shops and cafés around the world taking part in Cakes for Apes in whatever way they can.
